Kurn is the former guild master of Apotheosis, an Alliance raiding guild located on the Eldre’Thalas server. She also previously served as the GM from January of 2008 until March of 2009, when the guild ceased 25-man raiding operations for the rest of the expansion. She came back to Eldre’Thalas on her hunter in the autumn of 2010 to form another incarnation of Apotheosis and was the guild master until September of 2012. She officially quit playing in November of 2012.
Kurn first rolled a toon (a male night elf hunter – Kurnmogh) in October of 2005, who was her first toon to 60, 70, 80, 85 and 90. Kurn used to raid primarily on her holy paladin, Madrana, having spent the majority of Wrath of the Lich King on Bronzebeard, Proudmoore and Skywall before coming home to Eldre’Thalas for Cataclysm.
Notable alts include an 85 mage (farmer, disenchanter extraordinaire and portal-maker) and a second 85 holy paladin over on Skywall. There’s also an 85 bear/tree druid who still over on Proudmoore with some “real-life” friends. Not to be forgotten, there’s 90 enhancement/resto shaman (herbalist and miner), who, through an extremely odd sequence of events that only older siblings can understand, has been on Eldre’Thalas, Proudmoore, Bronzebeard, Eldre’Thalas, Bronzebeard, Proudmoore and hey, back to Eldre’Thalas! Whew.
There’s also a pretty poorly geared and rarely played level 85 disc/holy priest on Eldre’Thalas, who managed to get Benediction, much to Kurn’s amusement. She currently exists to disenchant stuff for Kurn.
Kurn graduated from university with a Bachelor of Arts, Specialization Sociology. She is currently in her 30s, lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and has been an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens NHL hockey team since she was 11, despite the fact that they keep trading her favourite goalies. She speaks English, is fluent in French and speaks conversational Italian. She is fairly nocturnal and watches too much TV, thinks too much about strats and stats and other such WoW-related issues.
For whatever reason, she feels a need to pass along information. Usually, this comes in the form of very long, rambly, tangent-filled forum posts that her guildies usually pretended to at least skim through. Alternatively, her speeches on Vent were legen-waitforit-dary. And long. Like, Tolstoy-long. She is usually unapologetic about her loquaciousness.
Kurn’s newest projects include writing guides about how to be awesome at World of Warcraft in various roles, such as Guild Master, Raid Leader, Role Officer and, well, Raider. You can find all her new stuff at Kurn.info. You can also sign up for her announcement list for Kurn.info here:
